Studio Policy
WEATHER CANCELLATIONS
All of our instructors now offer online lessons for days that we have studio closures due to extreme weather! Lessons moved online due to Weather will always be announced on the website welcome page, Songwoods Studio Social Media including Facebook and Instagram, and outgoing voice mail.
NO "MAKE-UP" LESSONS
Registration for Individual voice and instrumental lessons is an agreement between the student and teacher to commit to the scheduled weekly lesson time. You may use your bonus weeks in the event of a missed lesson. Lessons will not be rescheduled. Note: At the discretion of the teacher and the availability of the studio, one lesson per semester may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours advance notice. (Studio Policy applies to lessons taught online or in-studio.)
ALTERNATE LESSON PLANS
If you are a little under the weather or occasionally have a “too busy” week with little practice time, just let your instructor know. This can be a good opportunity to sightread new materials, work on music skills (ear training, intervals etc), explore styles and artists with listening examples, or talk about any aspects of music or your progress and goals.
SHARING YOUR LESSON
If you must cancel your lesson same day or short notice due to illness or unexpected events, did you know that you can SHARE your lesson time with a friend or family member? No registration or prevous experience is needed. This is a great way to show someone what happens in a typical music lesson or to ask questions about music.
CONTACT YOUR TEACHER
Please contact your teacher directly by text, voice message, or email as a courtesy if you will miss your lesson or are running late. Never text while you are driving!
STUDIO PAYMENT POLICY:
Payment of the current invoice will reserve your lesson time for the entire enrollment period of 12 months. Clients signing up for a monthly payment plan agree to pay the full 12-month subscription. No refunds are offered for lesson cancellations mid-enrollment. Students must give 30 days notice for enrollment cancellation. We understand that sometimes our students experience financial difficulty. If this is the case, you may contact the studio to arrange an extension of your payment plan with the director.
